Counting cats in a target area is a daunting but important task that requires time and multiple volunteers. Counting cats at a colony caretaker feeding station is a bit simpler. We aim to spay/neuter 80%-100% of a feeder’s cats and a trail cam helps us reach our goal. Even if these sweethearts don’t smile for the camera, seeing the ears gives us the info we need. Scroll through to see some of the diners at this site.
We currently have three colonies in need of food donations. Two colonies we took over after the caretakers moved and one colony has feeders who are struggling to pay the cost of cat food. We return cats to colonies expecting them to receive daily food and water. Managed colonies are critical for healthier cats. When cats have regular mealtimes, caretakers can watch for new cats and cats who are not doing well.
If you can donate a bag of dry food or a case of canned food, please go to our Chewy wishlist.
If you would like to sponsor one of these colonies, by providing a monthly supply of food, please contact us ([email protected]) for more information.
If you can volunteer one or more mornings a week to feed a colony, please fill up the application.
Thank you for giving these deserving kitties something to look forward to every day 🐱
